Pantry Pickup Day – December 2025
Pantry Pickup Day – December 2025
Join us for Pantry Pickup Day — part of the Muscatine Mobile Food Pantry, hosted by Muscatine Church of Christ in partnership with River Bend Food Bank and local volunteers. Our goal is to make sure everyone who needs food can get it safely, fairly, and with as little stress as possible—for both guests and volunteers. To do that, we use two coordinated systems each month:
RSVP Early to Save Time
About 10–14 days before the pantry distribution, when we know how many families we will be able to serve, we open RSVPs (reservations). Here’s what you need to know:
*If you register online and receive a confirmation email with your QR code, you’re already checked in.
*You do not need to stop at the Palms Theater on pantry day.
*Please enter from the north side by taking Tipton → Bayfield → Mulberry Avenue to help reduce congestion on the bypass.
First-Come, First-Served Boxes Always Available with Check-In at the Palms Theater
*Each event includes a set number of drive-up boxes available without RSVPing online.
*These are distributed first come, first served starting at 1:30 PM.
*If you weren’t able to RSVP online, you can still receive food by signing in at the Palms Theater parking lot.
*Volunteers will get you checked in and then release you to the church to pick up your box.
Why We Do It This Way
We balance limited resources with community access by:
*Giving families who RSVP peace of mind that a box is waiting for them.
*Making sure those without internet access or who register late still have a way to receive food.
*Managing traffic, wait times, and volunteer workload so the experience stays safe and efficient for everyone.

What is a household?
A household means everyone who lives together and shares food.
This includes:
*Adults, children, and seniors living under the same roof
*Family members, roommates, or anyone regularly eating meals together
*People who may not be related but live in the same home and share groceries or meals
It’s not based on who owns the home or who pays the bills—it’s about who eats together and is supported by the same food resources.
Can I pickup for someone else?
Standard Proxy Pickup Policy
- A guest may pick up for ONE additional household (2 total boxes) without prior approval.
- Picking up for more than 2 households (3+ boxes total) requires advance approval from the Mobile Food Pantry Team.
How does the RSVP system work for food and volunteering?
To reserve a food box
You fill out a quick online form to reserve your food box. After submitting, you’ll get an email with a QR code. Bring that code (on your phone or printed) to the pantry on pickup day—starting at 2:30 PM—and we’ll check you in faster.
To Volunteer
Volunteers sign up online by choosing a role and shift time. Once confirmed, you’ll get an email with details about when to arrive and what to expect. This helps us plan ahead and make sure every part of the pantry runs smoothly.
